The Pinneberg museum is located in the old district court’s building from 1855 and focuses on regional topics regarding the city of Pinneberg, county of Pinneberg and Schleswig-Holstein. The permanent exhibition showcases its collection exemplarily. The first floor not only holds the early 20th century treatment room of Rudolph Grothkop, a local dentist and painter born in 1908, but also his painting studio. The changing temporary exhibitions additionally include topics involving the regional industrial history, trade and crafts as well as art and cultural history.
The nearby cultural center “Die Drostei”, a remarkable brick building built in the late 18th century, also hosts temporary exhibitions. |
