geb. 29.9.1818 in Altekoppel bei Bornhöved, gest. 8.5.1861 in Altona;
1838-1840 Studium der Philologie, danach Mediozinstudium in Kiel, München und Würzburg,
1843 Promotion Dr. med. in Kiel, 1843-1845 Assistenzarzt am Allgemeinen Krankenhaus in Hamburg, 1845-1846 Studienreise nach Paris und Berlin, 1846-1849 Privatdozent der Augenheilkunde an der Chirurg. Universitätsklinik in Kiel. Teilnahme zunächst als Freiwilliger, dann als Ober- und Bataillonsarzt am schleswig-holsteinischen Krieg. 1851 Eröffnung eines orthopädisch-chirurgischen und augenärztlichen Instituts.
