The four-masted barque „Passat”, which is one of the most beautiful sailing ships of the country, is anchored in Travemünde, Lübecks harbour on the Baltic Sea. The Hanseatic town of Lübeck rescued the ship from being broken up in 1959, gave it a permanent berth at the mouth of the Trave and put it under protection as an historic monument. Today the 56m-high masts of the ship are an emblem of Travemünde.
